President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa left the island this morning (76) to attend the 18th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly is being held in New York, USA.
This is the first time that the President is attending a foreign conference outside the country and addressing the Heads of State Summit at the UN Headquarters.
President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is scheduled to address the summit on the 22nd and during the sessions the President is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with several heads of state. Peiris, Chief Adviser to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Foreign Secretary Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage are also accompanying the President.
