A tragic incident was reported from the Wewelhinna Estate in Badulla where a mother had poisoned her three daughters.
The victims were a 31-year-old mother, 7, 5 and XNUMX daughters.
She said her husband was suffering from a mental illness and the decision was made due to financial difficulties in living.
However, with the intervention of the residents of the area, the doctors were able to save all of them who were admitted to the Badulla Hospital.
Dr. Palitha Rajapaksa in charge of the Emergency Care Unit of the Badulla General Hospital said,
"Fortunately, all four are in good health. It is very unfortunate to be in a situation like this without a way to live. The people of Badulla should be more vigilant about their neighbors. It's useless to be sad after something happens. These people had not had food for a few days. The mother had given poison to the three daughters by mixing poison in the tea. Fortunately, not much had been taken. ”
