Can't say about the shortage of goods in the future - Trade Minister

Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena says that it is not possible to say what kind of shortage will occur in the future in the face of the situation that has arisen around the world. The Minister was responding to a question posed by journalists after a program held in Colombo today.

"If China is one of the largest countries in the world working five days a day, then there will be a shortage of goods in the world. We also import most of our raw materials from China. Then if we run out of raw materials we will not be able to sustain some industries, ”he said.

Meanwhile, the Minister also requested that if there is anyone in Sri Lanka who knows how to control the rise in world oil and gas prices, he should refer them to him.

"If someone says, this is the increase in world oil, this is how Sri Lanka controls, the world gas price has increased by 130%. If there is anyone who knows a methodology to reduce it, ask him to meet me, ”the Minister said.
