Milk powder shortage another month?

Lakshman Weerasuriya, a member of the Milk Powder Importers' Association, said that a request had been made through the Cost of Living Committee to increase the price of milk powder by Rs. 200 per kilo.

The Milk Powder Importers' Association says that if the milk powder in the port is not released soon, it is likely to deteriorate and currently accounts for about 10 percent of the demand for milk powder in the market.

Mr. Lakshman Weerasuriya said that a large ton of milk powder imported by milk powder importers could not be released due to the shortage of dollars and that the Prime Minister had instructed to release the containers immediately, but the payment had become problematic.
Mr. Weerasuriya further stated that although the price of flour has been increased by Rs. 200 against the dollar, a request has been made to increase it by Rs.
