Scientists in Laos have identified a virus species that is very similar to the corona virus.
It is said that there were three types of viruses in this bat species similar to the corona virus.
The conclusion was reached after testing the excrement samples of 645 bats in caves in northern Laos at the Pasteur Laboratory in France.
The researchers said that most bats contained about 95% of these viruses.
Edward Holmes, a virologist at the University of Sydney in Australia, points out that this further confirms that the corona virus was not created in a laboratory but was born naturally.
