The Sri Lanka Medical Association says the country will have to be locked up for another three or four weeks to reap the full benefits of the travel restrictions.
Its chairperson, Dr. Padma Gunaratne, says that despite the current travel restrictions, people are not happy with their behavior.
At present, the number of patients reported is around 3000 per day, but it shows that there may be around XNUMX patients in the society, she said.
In this way, there is a possibility of more cases being reported in the country in the next three to four weeks, she said.
It is true that the closure of the country will cause serious economic damage, but the people need their support to reap the benefits, she added.
She made these comments at a press conference held in Colombo.
