Will the travel limit be extended for another two weeks?

Health officials warn that the control of Kovid disease will have to be extended for another two weeks as there is a tendency to violate the imposed restrictions.

In the past 24 hours alone, 1411 people have been arrested for violating traffic restrictions and quarantine laws.

Last day 2334 Kovid infections were reported from this country.

The highest number of infections was reported from the Colombo area last day as well.

That's 546 infections.

Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath expressed the following views regarding travel restrictions.

The number of new patients is lower than previously reported.

But we can't just look at the numbers and conclude that everything was done right.

If the law is being violated more and more, there is nothing to do but extend these travel restrictions for another week or two.
