It is reported that the Ministry of Education has informed the parents not to send students to schools as they are on strike today (200) despite the Ministry of Education instructing them to start schools with less than 21 students.
Teachers have used WhatsApp groups to teach from home in the wake of the Kovid 19 epidemic, and students in some schools in the Eastern Province, including the Trincomalee district, have been told not to go to school through the WhatsApp.
Some principals contact the staff of their schools through WhatsApp and principals have informed their staff using WhatsApp not to bring students to school.
Accordingly, the striking teachers have told the parents of their classes not to send their children to school through the WhatsApp and that they will not accept the responsibility if they come to school for any reason.
It is learned that parents have avoided sending their children to school as they have been informed through this WhatsApp that they are not responsible for any incidents that may have taken place in the school.
