"If the bar fills up when there is a minute to open the country, we need to think twice about where we are going beyond that," said Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Namal Rajapaksa.
Minister Namal Rajapaksa stated this while answering questions posed by journalists in Tangalle today (19).
"In my opinion, there is a wrong message about the opening of liquor stores. Neither the Kovid Committee nor the government took such a decision. If a decision is taken by the Kovid Committee, it will be taken on the advice of doctors to minimize the spread in line with the prevailing situation in the country. No decision was taken by the Kovid Committee on the opening of the bar. But there is something to think about from the bar opening scene.
Despite the economic hardships and the lack of hired work and the restrictions on travel, there is a queue to open bars. However the bar was opened, the message it received was that the people and the government of this country should look at a more futuristic program. Because if the bar fills up when the country has a minute to open, we need to think twice about where we are going beyond that. ”
