31 lakhs liters of nano nitrogen liquid fertilizer has been ordered to be imported for the Maha season this year and the first consignment of 45 liters has been brought to the island. The stock of liquid fertilizer weighs 05 metric tons. It is said that it is planned to import XNUMX liters of nitrogen liquid fertilizer during this week.
Steps have been taken to transport the stock of fertilizer brought to the island to the Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Central Warehouse in Hunupitiya, Wattala.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture Prof. Udith Jayasinghe stated that this stock of liquid fertilizer will be distributed to farmers today through the Agrarian Centers in the Ampara, Batticaloa and Trincomalee Districts where paddy cultivation has already commenced during the Maha season.
