Get ready to be in the dark for 12 hours! Champika warns!

Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka has stated that if crude oil is not imported to Sri Lanka by December, the Sapugaskanda Crude Refinery will be closed and power plants with a capacity of 200 megawatts will be closed at the same time.

He pointed out that even if coal is not imported, 45% of the country's electricity capacity will be lost.

If so, the country will definitely have to face a 12 hour power cut, Ranawaka said.
