According to health recommendations, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has instructed officials to order a third dose of the vaccine now, given the global situation.

A number of leading countries in the world have already ordered vaccines for the third dose. The President pointed out the need for Sri Lanka to pay special attention to this and prepare for the third dose.

There is a huge demand for vaccines from all over the world. President Rajapaksa said that he had sought the assistance of Sri Lanka in consultation with the leaders of a number of countries to obtain more vaccines in this competitive environment. Accordingly, the President emphasized the need to provide vaccines obtained with great difficulty in a transparent and systematic manner.

The President pointed out the need to vaccinate all persons over 60 years of age and those associated with identified infections as soon as possible as a large number of vaccines have been received so far. At the same time, the President instructed that steps be taken to vaccinate all those suffering from non-communicable diseases.

The President said at a meeting of the Special Committee for the Suppression of Covid (10) at the Presidential Secretariat that vaccination of more people could prevent the spread of the Covid epidemic and the spread of the disease.

The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) has developed special software for formal vaccination and the collection of data on all vaccinators. This will make it easier to set a date and time to receive the vaccine at the Grama Niladhari and Medical Officer of Health offices.

The government intends to include information on all those who have been vaccinated and who will be vaccinated, and to issue an internationally recognized certificate of vaccination.

Non-Covid Death, PCR. Many have complained of delays in the final stages of the investigation. Taking this into consideration, the Kovid Special Committee decided to take steps to conduct the funeral of those who died of other causes within 24 hours.
