A wax statue of the late Sunil Perera, the leader of the Gypsies, a revolutionary star of Sri Lankan band music, is to be installed at the Madame Tussauds Museum in London, UK.
It is based on the concept of Falil Marikkar, a Sri Lankan entrepreneur living in the UK.
The Madame Tussauds Museum in London, one of the world's largest tourist attractions, opened in 1835.
It features wax figures of many world celebrities, including members of the British royal family.
The construction of a wax figure of Mr. Sunil Perera will undoubtedly be a great opportunity to popularize the art of Sri Lankan music internationally.
